About the Park
MacMillan Park contains Cathedral Grove, a world renowned ancient Old Growth Douglas Fir forest on Vancouver Island. Visitors can stroll on easy access networks of trails under the shadow of the ancient forest trees, where some of the Douglas Firs are over 800 years old. On the south side of the park you will find the largest Douglas Fir measuring 9 metres in circumference. The trails continue on across to the north side of the highway into a grove of ancient Western Red cedar standing watch over nearby Cameron Lake.
