We are open to the public every day except Wednesdays! 9:30am-4pm Thurs-Tues! Come meet our Ambassadors and watch this space for more frequent updates on public programs and the opening of our retails space *soon*!
Yesterday the Nature House was on the news as it was announced that we would be opening our doors this spring for the first time in three years (we have had short openings during salmon run but not the spring). We are working hard to get things rolling including our retail space. Our website, NatureHouse.ca is currently broken and we are unable to edit it. Please check back here for information as we will confirm opening times for the Nature House and public programs soon. Our goal is to open our doors to the public on Friday June 9, 2023- we are busy training our very excited Discover Parks Ambassadors this week.
“This is my first Coho dissection for my last school group of the season.” Caden, affectionately named by the kids “Salmon Man”, took on the role of salmon dissection expert this season and brought so much enthusiasm, energy and respect to learning about the outside and inside of salmon. Saturday, Dec 10, is your last chance to visit Caden in the park before the Nature House closes to the public for the winter!
🎄This is our version of trees decorated for the holiday season! Aren’t our decorations majestic!? How many eagles can you count? Often they will wait in the trees for the tide to go out in the estuary and more salmon carcasses to be uncovered for them to eat…because they are hungry!
Jerry the Moose has arrived to welcome the hungry bald eagles to Goldstream Park! Eagle numbers usually peak around a week before Christmas so we are seeing more arrive each day. Bring binoculars and come down to help Jerry count the eagles - only 5 more days of the Nature House being open before Christmas! (Today, Dec 7, 8, 9 & 10)
Goldstream is “snow much fun!” There are Coho in the spawning channel and dozens of bald eagles in the trees! MORE exciting news: a special visitor has arrived at the Nature House and will be here the next two weekends. Can you guess who?
It’s #givingtuesday and if the salmon could talk they’d say make a donation to the Goldstream Nature House so we can continue to educate on being good salmon stewards for life. Link in our Bio to donate now.
Are you wondering if there are still salmon to see at Goldstream? Yes! There are! Guess how many were counted on Wednesday this week? Come and visit our Ambassadors in Goldstream Park between 9am and 4:30pm in the Nature House or on the trail to learn more! It’s amazing in the park this week!
If you love working outdoors in areas of “natural wonder”, enjoy being physically active, are considered outgoing and personable and/or have a knack for communicating with the public, we may have a fantastic opportunity for you!
