Yesterday morning at Horne lake regional park, as the sun rose. We went camping with my parents, sister and nieces for 4 days (just got back last night).
This is the smoothest we saw the lake the entire time we were there.

🏆 Carlee’s Pick 🏆 - Summer Recreation: Horne Lake 🏄🏊🚵
When she gets a chance to step away from the office in the summer ☀️, you will often find carleejahelka_realestate enjoying 😎 the recreational playground that is Horne Lake. Whether it is wakeboarding, surfing, tubing, kayaking, paddle boarding , kayaking, or just floating in the Bay, Carlee prefers her time on the water 🌊. In recent years she has been excited to introduce her young family to “the lake life”.
Located approx. 40 minutes north of Nanaimo, Horne Lake is easily accessible and offers an abundance of activities, both on and off the water. Adventure seekers will enjoy activities such as cliff jumping at the river, rock climbing 🧗 on Mt. Mark, or spelunking at Horne Lake Caves Provincial Park. There are numerous trails around for hiking 🥾 and biking 🚴, and anglers will enjoy casting a line 🎣 in the lake or nearby rivers. There are countless ways to enjoy your time on the water, ranging from a relaxing sunset cruise 🛥️ to a range of higher intensity watersports.
Horne Lake Regional Park within the RDN includes both a campground 🏕️ and a day park, and there are a variety of programmed activities you can take part in to make the most of your time in the area.
For those looking to enjoy “the lake life” on a more regular basis, there are 400 lakefront recreational lots surrounding the lake, which is approx. 8.2 square kilometers in size. Currently lots on Horne Lake start from $450,000, with cabins starting from $755,000, which positions Horne Lake waterfront real estate as amongst the most reasonably priced options 👌 on Central Vancouver Island.
If you’d like to learn more about this still somewhat hidden gem, our team would welcome the opportunity to share our experience with you!
